Default New Build TIPS?

Just picked up a 00 T.A M6
im looking to build this car here soon
I’m not real savvy with these mods and trust me I’ve read tons of sticky’s
the car already has long tubes and cut outs im gonna order a lid soon
looking at getting a LS6 intake also I’m looking for a can to drop in I want it somewhat choppy but I would like reliability also. So any tips on a good street cam ? Also gonna get her set up on some N20!
Another thing is re gearing will this 10 bolt hold 4.10 for street use? I may put it on the track one or 2 times to see my numbers. Y’all guys help me out!!! Thanks in advance

My 10 bolt is still holding up with about 600 rwhp through a M6 and 4.10 gears. Luck combined with no hard launches and wheelhop I'm sure has helped lol. Do you have 4.10's now?

4.10s on a M6 are the perfect overall gear if staying n/a IMO

4.11 Gear is an excellent recommendation. As to cam selection, cam motion titan 4, ws6 store Asa cam, streetsweeper HT by flowtech, BTR stage 2, TSP 228. Any of those should give you a nice upgrade without sacrificing the longevity of the motor. You can google for YouTube vids of those cams. They should all perform pretty similar.

If you want to really improve your acceleration, lighten your clutch and flywheel assembly.

My biggest thing is will I need a new torque converter to push what I’m wanting to gain especially with a wetshot???

Also on the cam setup I don’t want anything to laggy under 3500 rpms. And another question is what’s a good short throw shifter for not a whole lot?

I think most good aftermarket shifters are in the same ballpark price wise. I have the MGW and am very happy with it

Pretty much every cam I listed will not be soggy on torque. Honestly should have good torque from about 1500 on up.

FWIW, duration from 226-229 intake and 230-235 exhaust seem to be very good street cams with a good blend of low end torque and top end HP.

As to converter, I can only repeat what I've been told, but a good converter seems to be an effective upgrade even on the stock cam. If you talk to the vendors who sell those cams they'd have great recommendations for you.

Where do converters come into the equation when running an M6?

For a nice lope at idle, but still maintain great drivability, people love the Titan 4 camshaft. It is a great combination of power and drivability. It is efficient up to about a 200 shot of nitrous. After that you will want a different camshaft:
