Default Ms3 cam ?

My friend has a 2001 Camaro z28 heres his specs:
ms3 cam 112 lsa
ls6 intake
Slp lid
k&n air filter
ported maf
stock heads
Headers 3"
3" y pipe
Lm1
so here's the question if he has the ms3 which I seen him put in and seen the box why does it sound stock? Im wondering because I bought the same one from a guy on here and I dont want mine to soumd stock I want it to be known at the track that its there lol. But why does it sound like the stock cam? His dyno doesnt show that it his because he thought maybe he got robbed and I thought maybe he messed up with putting the wrong one in. But I seen alot of people on you tube some sound stock and some sound choppy as hell. So what is going on?

I'm not doubting what you are saying, but it might be a matter of interpretation lol. My cam specs are very similar to the MS3, and at idle there is no possible way to mistake it for a stock cam lol

Was the cam in a sealed box. or did someone put his old cam in the box and sell it to your friend? Stranger things have happened...

No he got it from tsp I was there when he opened it and it said ms3 on the bottom piece and i know what you guys are saying I heard the ms4 which isnt much bigger and it was definitely heard lol but his idk it just sounds like my old ls1 cam. He called tsp and they said the same thing that its like kne of the biggest cams that can fit that there is no way. But like i said his dyno shows there is something different lol. So Idk if his car is just one of the weird ones or not. I seen some you tube videos were even some people saif it sounded stock so Idk if they lied in the video or not. But like i said if I could upload a video I swear it sounds stock lol

Now thats funny lol. Even on a 114 that thing is gonna chop away. Either they did the old switcheroo with a different cam in the box, or you guys need to see a doctor about your current hearing loss lol.

Lol exactly. Something simply doesn't add up here. I mean I could completely plug my ears and still feel the car shake with that cam lol

OP, you should have no worries here. Install it, set the idle to maybe 900 or so, and you will most definitely hear it lol. If you can't then it's you my friend....not the cam lol

I'll have you guys know i passed my hearing exam at work with great number lol. But seriously I think someone took his cam lol. But heres another question i have a speed engineering 3" dual over the axel with 3" pacesetter headers given the fact the exhaust has mufflers still. Would mine be louder then his being he has a lm1 which is essentially nothing lol or would his still be louder. I ask this because I'm rebuilding a set of 243 and I have the same cam. Given mine is a ms3 and will probably lock it away for safe keeping just incase lol. But if his wasnt whatever would mine be louder or his?

So you have true duals and not a y-pipe?

no i have a speed engineering mounted to my car now put them on the other day I had a y pipe and lm1 same as him. But on my car its the 499 kit from seen engineering that has dual 3" pipes out the rear. The one where you need a relocation kit for it.

I'm not sure, but all I know is I had the LM1 with my Pacestter long tubes and ORY and it was just retarded loud with a ton of rasp. Sounded great at idle and WOT, but everywhere else sounded horrible lol

oh trust me i know sounded amazing at idle and wot but in between I swear it sounded like I dumped quarters in the resonator lol. But I'm hoping this exhaust is better. Some one told me it was as loud as open headers but without the rasp of the lm1. So Idk trying to see if anyone has ever used them before.

Yeah it would be interesting to know. Another thing that really helped smooth out the rasp was getting a good quality merge welded into my ORY. The Pacesetter one is horrible, so I had a Flomaster merge put in, and it made a big difference

Yeah Idk I really want to cut the muffler off and just run it without it I heard some youtube clips and it sounds quiter then the y pipe setup you would think not since the x pipe and the true dual exhaust part
