Default 806 heads vs 862 heads

I'm having a dilemma about what heads I should run on my car the setup is a tsunami cam and a Holley sniper long runner intake with a 102 tb, I'm worried that the 862 will kill power cause the small intake valve, but will the small chamber of the 862 compensate for the power or should I just put the 806 heads on it.

Stock to stock it's gonna be close. The 862 head will obviously bump compression, but the 806 head will flow slightly better. I would think with that intake and cam you have the increased compression would be more suitable than the very slight increase flow of the 806 head

I see. If it were me i'd have those 862's worked over. I have PRC 5.3 heads (862 casting) and for the money I think they do really well. Either way since the heads are not on the car you might as well have them ported. That's just my opinion

well if you have the heads off now is the time to upgrade or improve them such as valves, larger or aftermarket, porting ,valve job . If your leaving stock because of budget .maybe porting isn't in the budget, at least a valve job and milling. 806 would not be my first choice but if your ok with perimeter bolt , go for it. Id probably go with 862 but with a port and slight larger valve.

They are easy to port and my machinist installed 2' intake and 1.5 exhaust, milled .010 to insure flatness, new seals and I put 1218 springs on them for about 400 bucks out the door..

The 2" intake valve is okay, but not sure why you would want to go down in size on the exhaust side . 862 casting already has 1.55 exhaust. 806 casting is perimeter bolt and different coils and brackets. Go with the 862 a good valve job ,bowl blend and maybe valve upgrade combo 1.95 in and 1.57 ex
