Head selection Man, haven’t posted in here in years!!! Lol. But this site is still the go too. So here’s my situation. Current car, 01 SS, A4 FLT level 4, yank pt4400, motive 3.73s, pulled motor year and change ago when bought car cause of bad lifter partly because of improper push rod length with MS3 cam installed by previous owner, rebuilt fresh, ms4, ls7 lifters, new almost everything minus bottom end just disassembled and rebuilt. Speed engineering stainless headers, custom over axel duals. Getting some 42# injectors, just picked up a FAST 90, Warr TB. Trying to match heads. Car is on bigs n littles, 28” mickies. It’s max effort only. Non daily. No AC. I’m trying to go as deep 11s as I can. I’ll be doing a 9’ too. Prc 227s look stout but want other comparable or better power options assuming money wasn’t an issue. I have 243s I never installed cause I really ant aftermarket castings. Experienced help would be great. Sorry for the long ars post. Lol
Since you already have 243's, maybe check out Advanced Induction, TEA, WCCH. They all have excellent CNC programs with proven results. If money isn't an option, BTR TFS and Mamo Sportsman heads rip.

Thanks man. While it is tempting to just port what I have, having such a large cam I like aftermarket castings like the prc heads having a different valve angle allowing for more ptv clearance over stockers thus allowing a bump in compression

With PRC 243's and the setup in my sig I ran 11.2 @ 121 mph with a best trap of 122 at pretty much full weight and trans problems ( banging limiter on each shift)
I'm switching to the PT 4400 and rebuilding my transmission and expect to see around 10.8@ 124mph.
What kind of 60' do you cut with the 4400?

Money no issue on a 3.90" Bore, Mamo Motorsports 220s. Fully CNCd.
Great Value for the money, MMS 223 Sportsman, as cast with hand finishing.

Thanks 98, check this out, like I said I bought the car alittle over a year ago after selling the vert in my sig in 2012 (thanks x-wife), figures already has a cam and 3600 stall. We are good. Well as stated car took a dump, bought someone else’s handy work, so anyway all the above I’ve done myself since, bigger cam, bigger stall, rebuilt rear, and have never tracked this car. Lol. Gonna make it worth while though, want an amazing set of heads.

No worries man. I appreciate your info. I’m not gonna spend tons of money just for the sake of it. If prc heads are my best option that’s the route I’ll go.

Yes, they cost less than 2 grand ready to bolt on. The car in the link put down 450 rwhp on a stingy mustang dyno with a single pattern cam and out of date 90mm fast intake. Also the power was put down threw a built 4L60E and a aftermarket 3200 stall.
A optimised cam and a 102mm fast will get you only more more. I see guys struggling to make 450 rwhp with a A4 car. Not the case with with the TFS heads.

Out of dat fast 90. Lol. That’s what I bought. Lol. Well it’s what I have. I’ve looked at the as cast heads before, I just leaned towards prc 227 heads cause I figured they would be matched since tsp used that combo to do crazy shiz at the track lol. But I’ll look again man. Thanks
Sell the 243's and go with aftermarket. I haven't seen a lot of track times or dynos with the prc 227's. I went with the tfs220's because I wanted to be able to open them up with the 235 program when I build a bigger motor. The Mamo heads seem to make great power as well. Welcome. Yeah that's the only downfall to a worked over 243. Especially if they are milled. It does limit PTV with a thinner deck. However, I am am about to install a larger cam designed around my AI 226 heads this spring. It's a 232/240 .620 .604 114+3. While on the "somewhat" larger side, it wil clear fine. Was just throwing that out there for others gauging cam size and clearance while running CNC 243's. That said, I think you are on the right track going with an aftermarket casting. The PRC 227 heads you mentioned are a nice piece for the money. If you decide to dig deeper into your wallet, some TFS heads touch up by Brian Tooley are great. Mamo Sportsmans are pretty awesome as well.
