Did he say "at home fly-cutting"? Did I read that correctly?

Was this a balanced rotating assembly? Is it still balanced now? You plan on spinning this thing up to how high of an RPM?

Someone please instruct him on how to post a video. I think there might be an epic parts destruction video for him to post in the near future.

Tons of people fly cut at home. The weight of the removed aluminum is negligible. It is no big deal at all.

Really buddy chill out before you rupture an ovary or felopeaon tube. If you don't like what I'm doing go takre a flying ******* leap off a bridge. O and I plan on spinning the motor till it makes good power or it lets go it doesn't make a difference to me either way I'm only in the project 300 dollars and about 8 hours of labor. Don't be pissy cause someone does something a different way then u want. And do some reading on the **** you can do at home. Have a nice day and if you don't have anything nice to say then shut the **** up. Thanks

I'm sure there are people doing all types of really stupid stuff to their cars. I'm just amazed that you would actually post it on a public forum for all/others to see. Can I ask, did you "fly cut" the pistons while they were still in the engine block? Please say that you did.. It would not surprise me in the least.

Don't be mad at me for simply inquiring about what you are doing/have done. I made no statements about my personal opinions on what you might have done (prior to this post). I was simply inquiring.

Please do post videos of the car running at some insane RPM.. Really, I'd love to see it *IF* you think the motor will hold together? Let's see this master engineered engine of yours actually DO SOMETHING. So, the ball is in your court. You want to machine parts at home with a hand drill, I just want to see it run.... SO, what ya got?

It's FALLOPIAN tube.. Not the gibberish you attempted. If you are going to go down a path of name calling, at least take a moment, put down your egg-beater/piston fly cutter, and check your spelling.

I'll be waiting on a video from you... NOT! Post something up or we will all know what you are full of..

I'm somewhat local to you and would love to see the thing run. I'm going to a bigger (to me) cam 231/241 .612", ported 243s, fast 92 and Nick Williams TB. all on a stock bottom end. Like to see decent local stuff. I'm up in Littlestown, PA. PM me when the weather breaks if you want. Good luck with the project.

Kawabuggy, I have no dog in this fight, and I always mind my own business, but I have to ask you sir, have you not seen or heard of in-engine flycutting before?
I’ve used the fixture to flycut out of the block, and I’ve also done it in-block as well. Piece of cake. I think you’d be surprised how many people here have done this procedure. If done properly, with the stop depth set correctly, it’s very accurate.

I'm in silver run so im only a few minutes from you as soon as i get it 100% which shouldn't be much longer ill meet up with you. If you wanna see a video of the car before on the dyno here is one from keiths pit stop http://picbear.com/media/1715522586063964112_5664628892 ill get a new one once complete and i will post it. And kawabuggy please explain to everyone how the car will blow up because i flycutt on the car. And if it is to not be done this way why do they make the isky fly cutting tool which is made to do while the pistons are in the car. How is what I did stupid?

LOL Flycutting, it's more accurate to let the valve flycut the piston

So I finally got to take it to the dyno today it did ok. Coulda got more out of it if we remembered the laptop to chang the rev limiter but I'm happy with the numbers i got for now. It defenitly pulls a hell of alot harder then before I gained 31 rwhp with just a cam swap nothing else done. I'm happy with how it turned out no aroind town driveability issues. To me it drives just like stockish.

at drives stockish. 246/250 627/630 112+3 does not drive stockish until it's in a 427 cube motor.

Now take the cam out and put the old one back in and put 1.8 rockers on It.

I can't even begin to imagine how this cam drives "stockish" lol. Sure this cam will dyno higher peak numbers, but it will be slower in the real world than a proper sized cam for this motor. There's just no way around that

What is so hard to believe about it drives stockish. You rev it to about 1200-1500 rpm let clutch out slowly car goes vroom vroom starts moving no problems only time have any cam surge is below 1500 with no throttle same with old cam. I can use 6th gear at low rpm. Driving a big cam on the street is not hard at all

Let the man be. 246/250 isnt even that big. If hes happy with it (and clearly it makes power) then so be it.

My 27x/28x cam drove like stock in my 5th gen.

I'm not downing you OP. If you are happy that's all that matters. Obviously the term "stockish drivability" is extremely subjective and a matter of personal opinion.

Textbook results of going to a bigger cam. Considerable losses in torque and horsepower at lower RPM in exchange for gains at higher RPM. Looks like you need to shift at 7k or so.
