Cam grind

Hi.

I have a broken lifter and a bad cam.
When i pulled the cam it looked like the base of the cam(not the lobes) also was worn.

Does this look normal for you guys?
Comp cam from about 2012 with about 5000miles.

The reason i am asking is because i am wondering if there something else wrong with the engine, not just the lifter/cam, that coukd have caused patterns like that.

Looks like part of the broken lifter might have scored up the cam between the lobes
