Need for new timing chain sprockets?

As the header says, is there any need for to go this route, also in a adjustable version, wanna do h/c/i swap with Iwis chain, engine is LS6 100 grand kilometers on the clock, dampener would be the RDE ones i assume?!

The only real "rule" I'm aware of for gears and chains is if you replace anything, everything requires replacement. Crank sprocket, chain, and cam gear should all be a matched set.

Why would you want an adjustable chain?

Yes, u are right, makes no sense to put a new chain to old worn sprockets, especially in regards to find the right timing from cam, I think I go that way, any recommendations here, heard Cloyes is a good brand what else would work properly with the Iwis chain?

There are some chains you can put on GOOD OEM gears; the C5R chain for example. Seems as though there are some others.

But most of us, if we're going to go to the length of upgrading the chain, we'll put in adjustable sprockets as well, to dial the cam in.

Might want to check w/ PanteraEFI, he has some chain options available. Katech & BTR, maybe others too, have the C5R chain, which you can get either straight from them or through TSP or the like.

Yeah if you don't have the stock damper the RDE is about the only choice. GM it seems doesn't sell it anymore.

I see what you're after... sorry for being slightly confused. I'm running a Cloyes timing set with adjustable crank gear. And yes by matching I meant that you should have the same amount of miles on them, not necessarily that all the parts had to be made by the same company. So far I haven't had any problems with the cloyes stuff. Works as it should.
