Question valve spring and cam choice question(s)

in the near future i'm planning on camming my 01 z28. my original plan was going with a new lunati voodoo off the shelf cam with a mild setup so I would be able to get away and use single springs pac 1518 or 1215 single beehives as the lift would be under .600 and I would only be shifting at like 6100 RPMs.

I may pick up a used cam from the for sale section that has similar cam specs but the lift would be something like .617/.601. my question is, can I still get away with using single beehive springs long as I keep the RPMs under 6100-6200RPMs?

With that kind of lift dual springs might be a better option. Regardless of that, just make sure the springs have enough lift capacity to handle that much lift.

well if single beehive springs are only LS6 they are only good upto 570 lift. call a sponsor for the best springs for your appl. i'd also consider the trunnion upgrade while you've got the rockers off. cheers!

Crane 1449181 is a 232/236 .600/.600 112 LSA. The exact specs you're looking for.

This cam is very close to the specs you are after and works very well in the LS1/6: https://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product/LPP801112

Also our LS dual valve spring set: https://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product/LPP811112

I notice it's a single pattern cam. Wouldn't even a Gen III LS engine be better served with about 6 degrees more exhaust duration?

Our high lift asa cam is a pretty good choice also and good on the budget also. Comes with pac 1218 springs at .600 lift and makes some pretty good power for a med sized cam.
Sounds great at idle too and makes a great torque curve.
$500 cam and springs til next friday.
