another pushrod question....does this look right???
BTR Stage II cam, their dual spring, stock rockers with bushing trunion, stock valve, ls7 lifters...
WS6store/RPM mls head gasket
Did the EOIC method and got 13 rotation on pushrod checker...that gets me at 7.52" based on my calculations....with my combination does this sound right to you??? i've also soaked the ls7 lifters for 30 minutes prior to installing
Just mentally picturing this in my head...i don't see why my pushrod would be longer than stock but it is atleast 0.12" longer...
Just for giggles...i put in my stock pushrods....sure enough there is play in the rockers...so i guess it's def longer than the stock 7.4"...

6.8 + ([# of turns] x 0.050) + 0.070 (LS7 lifter preload?)
I did all 8 cylinders and got 12.75 to 13.25 turns. Settled in the middle with 7.525". For sure the stock 7.4" is too short has I have play on the rockers.
just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything. Did the EOIC method to find base and watch YouTube videos to double check.

my pushrod came with the cam kit...i think it's 5/16" and 0.08" wall...
now i'm beginning to think....i had installed the stock 7.4" push rods in all the rockers to turn the crank and do the eoic method...i'm wondering if that had pushed the preload on the lifters down to where i'm reading a longer length than should be...i'm sure i did it properly in terms of measurement...but still feel 7.525" is long vs stock...i'd just hate to put in the new pushrod just to find out it's slightly too long and spend more money to get the right size....

Some will argue that you're possibly leaving power on the table in higher RPM's but I'd rather have a nice quiet valvetrain with plenty or preload just the way the factory intended.

Mine sounded high to me at first, so I checked, re-checked, and checked at least 10 more times. Id recommend doing the same just to be safe. That said, at the end of the day, it "is what it is"
so far my experience with btr has been sub par...calling their 800 number is impossible to get a hold of anyone during any time of day....leaving a message twice yielded no call back...they did price match snd item I bought...their website is hard to navigate...trying to find returning policy was difficult....looks like they reply back in fairly timely manner with emails....but right when I asked if there is anything they can do to help me out the conversation got silent....
