Default Tfs 235 vs. Prc 247

I have a 6.0 That I am stroking to a 408. I have a fast 102 intake, -3cc pistons, Texas giant cam, 42lb injectors, trunion upgrade, ls2 chain, tsp 4" forged crank. I think that's about all that's needed. But what do you guys think? Is 2000 good for a used set of tfs or should i spend the extra 400 for the tsp 247 which are better in terms price to cfm are the 247 really much better both have the same valves and both have the .660 Springs. What's everyone's opinion.

You don't make a cylinder head decision on cfm numbers alone. You need to do a little math and talk to the experts first to see what your combination requires. High cfm doesn't mean its good for your motor and high cfm / big ports can actually reduce power from your engine. You might make alot more TQ with a smaller port/cfm numbers then you would with high cfm numbers -- airspeed is what matters, CFM numbers sell parts, high airspeed with correct port size/valve size wins races.

well that's the thing I can get either the prc 247s a set of tfs 235s or now maybe a set of ls6 heads done up by cbm. If I can save money but still getva good head that will compliment my setup id be happy.

Why you stuck on the 235 tfs heads instead of the 245 tfs heads....

Agreed, between the two choices, TFS 235s.
Especially with that Giant Cam, better performance & drivability.

Probably worth getting some expert opinions from the various vendors etc.

FWIW in my limited experience it's usually better to go with the head that has the smaller port volume when picking between two similar heads that can meet your goals. Usually the higher velocity of the slightly small port will drive better and usually make the same or better power with the correct cam.

I'd go with TFS 235's over the PRC 247's for your 408.
