Rod knock or no tune+maf

My new 408 idles at 2500 rpm and sounds like a knocking but I'm unsure because it was just a quick fire up because I was having issues with electrical. So im trying to figure out if it's a rod or because their is no tune plus the maf wasn't on making it sound bad. Oil pressure was like 65ish. Also no headerd were on could it just me the baffling of the open heads? I'm trying to upload a video but it says unsupported format.

someone else said that too I'll have to check but I can't keep it running cuz no tune.

LOL! I don't know how anyone can discern ANY odd sound with exhaust blowing out open head ports...

Right!? As a teenager me and a friend put a 400 smallblock into a lifted Silverado. The engine came out of a car sitting on his dads sawmill for years without being started. It was a free deal. We got the engine bolted in, connected the pink wire to the distributor, connected the fuel line to the carb, did the starter wiring, and busted it off to see if it would even run before we went any farther. I’ll never forget the flames shooting out of the exhaust ports, and the noise. It fired quickly, but man was it obnoxious. My ears hurt for hours...

Lol sorry guys I did attach the headers last night still loud as hell. But still has that sound doesn't sound like a rod knock just bad timing maybe? I guess a tune is in order.
