Default cam recomendation

LS swap..
2004 stock LS1 out of a corvette,
in light car 2800lbs
manual T56
mods= Jenvey ITBs,longtube headers,3" exhaust,xpipe,3.73 gear 25" tall tire
opinions on a cam and or kit, car will be driven daily on street,wont drag it,just a sleeper street racer,looking for good driveability,with good mid to upper rpm ...

I'm a fan of Cam Motion and I would suggest calling them up for a recommendation or a custom grind. I was going to point you towards their Titan IV which I think would be a great fit but I see you have ITBs. I am not familiar with ITBs and how they may change the desired valve events versus your typical LS style long runner manifold. Since LS shelf cams are designed for/around the manifolds that 99% of people run i.e. LS6, Fast 90/92, etc. and not ITBs I think you would be best off with something specifically tailored to your setup. Just my .02

I'm going to recommend on the larger side due to ITB and a lighter car - although I I would go to 4.11 rear gear with a T56...

232/238-113+3 and run 11.5-11.8 compression. You'll have good driveability with the ITB vs a regular manifold.

Thanks for the recomendation guys,you hit the nail on the head,with the ITBs i too thought to go for a little more duration @ 50,in the 230 range as the throttle bodies will already make good torque,and wanted more up top for sure,will just a cam and spring change work or is the full cam kit the way to go,ie lifters,springs,pushrods,timing chain ect.

I would do everything. Step up to morel lifters, biggger pushrods, good springs etc. and a cloyes ls2 timing set which is about twice as strong as Ls1 chain for forty bucks.

The big trick with ITB's is a wide LSA. You want the intake and exhaust valves open at the same time for the shortest time possible. That helps prevent the infamous "Weber Cloud" at lower rpm's. Otherwise duration and lift will perform pretty much as you would expect. To a point. It's easy to get too big, so don't be greedy.

A few years ago, Inglese was purchased by Comp Cams. You can cruise through their cam selections to get an idea of what works.

I'd call Cam Motion. Both Joe cordes and NicD recommend them (and they see a lot of cars) and the praises haven't stopped there. I don't have a cam from them I went with lunati which is great, no complaints, but next motor will get a cam motion cam using their 8620 cores.

May I also add that I would run a tool steel retainer, not titanium. Titanium is a very hard metal. It's light yes, but brittle as well. For a pure street car, I'd run a good set of PAC duals and steel retainers. I'd run a hollow intake valve and a stainless exhaust valve.

OP, Bspeck82 is right on all counts. I named a bunch who could spec a cam (Pat Guerra ONLY specs, not grinds) but I have to say Cam Motion gets a LOT of votes around here for good customer serviced AND a quality product. Many will tell you to get titanium retainers, but they are fragile for street use. Tool steel is the way here, as Bspeck82 said.

You know who has direct experience speccing cams for ITB ls motors?

Lance at Pantera efi. I would def recommend getting the cam ground by cam motion, but talk to lance about specs.
