Default Opinion on this cam for a daily driver Tahoe?

Planning ahead to camming my 2011 Tahoe with the 5.3L and 6L80E. I don't want to run an aftermarket converter. It will have longtubes, trunnion upgrade, DOD/AFM delete, CAI and dyno tune. The truck has 3.42 gears. I am looking at
  • 212/218 Duration at .050". 115 Degree Lobe Separation Angle.
  • .558"/.563" Valve Lift w/ 1.7 Ratio Rocker Arm

There are LOTS of 212/218 "truck" cams out there. Its pretty much the most common cam duration available.

^^^^^^^^^THIS, plus with the 115LSA it should idle fairly smoothly. For a Tahoe it would work well, IMHO.

I'd put it on a 111+2. You'd have to put it on a 102ish to need a verter. 115 has -15 degree overlap and 111 has -7 fwiw.

I had the 212/218 texas speed high lift truck cam in my 5.3 silverado. It ran exceptionally well. I had a 114 lobe separation, I like a wider lobe separation personally. I feel it gives better mileage and driveability.

I would definitely advance that cam at least 4 degrees to gain low end torque. Maybe even six degrees. Especially if your compression ratio is still stock. it will taper off a bit earlier up top, but with that heavy tahoe, I would sacrifice high RPM for low end grunt myself.
