What do you think of this cam?
pulled my old cam out of my car for a custom mamo spec. Old cam specs were 228/236 588/577 114 +4 .
mamo cam is 229/236 615/613 114+2.

More lift, less advance. Otherwise not much different.

when I bought the car the owner thought he had a ***** thumpr cam in it. anyways I went with tonys mms 223 heads and a cam specd by him. turns out the cam was a custom grind and not so bad after all I think.

You'll have more lift, so power should be up some, but a little less advance, so low end might be off a bit, but the lift might make up for that.

I think the tune and new top end did most of the gains, though the cam did increase it some with the added lift and any lobe refinements.

Agreed. Lobe family is a big deal. That’s why there are so many to choose from. Tony knows his stuff. I’m sure the car runs much better than before.

If Tony us doing the lobe spec'ing, it will be right. Just so long as the cam metallurgy holds up.... hopefully Comp is past that.

I read of a few isolated problems, of which Comp made right. I have never had a problem with a Comp Camshaft, and I’ve bought or installed many through the years. It fascinates me when there is an isolated issue in our business, or hobby as many see it, and all of a sudden the sky is falling. If Comp were a smaller business that had only been operating for a few years, I’d understand the rhetoric, but that’s not quite the case with an industry giant such as Comp. Stuff happens to us all, and by us all. It’s how you handle the issues that makes you or breaks you. I happen to be ordering another Mamo camshaft tonight which will be a Comp.
