Default Ws6store high lift hot cam installed with idle!!

A friend of ours just installed our high lift hot cam in his 05 Z71 5.3l l33 chevy.

Mods are
2800 stall
Tsp 1 3/4 headers and catless y pipe
No muffler (my ears bleed at wot)
Spectre cai
High lift hot cam

It likely will never see the dyno but I dialed in the afr on the street to 12.4 and its alot of fun to drive.

For a smaller cam numbers wise it's pretty rowdy. Got a ls1 I'm building for my rcsb and that might be a nice fit!

Nice!

My HLHC car saw freezing rain the other day. That was awesome, thing had 2000hp.

Just curious, I think you guys spec this cam to work with the stock stall, have you ever driven a car with this cam and stock stall?

I have, yes. I have installed 2 in stock fbodys one with 2.73s and one with 3.23s.
We have had a few customers do that also with no issue and in trucks too. The 5.3l does lack cubic inch, compression ratio and and the low end power also that even an ls1 has.

Does this cam need a stall?

It does not. But its quite a bit more fun to drive with one. Even a small I6 trailblazer stall.

It comes with 112LSA. What will one degree LSA make for you? I THINK they'll grind whichever you want, though.

thee dumbest reason ever. I prefer that idle of a 113 for my vette. Bought this car cheap and don't need anything to rowdy. That's what my Camaro is for .

113LSA in different cams will sound different. What makes you think this LSA in this cam will do what you want?

Idle tuning will make way more of a difference vs 1* more lsa.

I have a stock lq9 swap into my Monte Carlo ss.
It has a 700r4 and I don’t wanna dump a lot of money into a convertor I may swap out one day.
unless there’s a cheap stall for a 700nout there.
The 6.0 will have full bolt ons with either an ls6 or fast 90 intake setup.
1-7/8 headers and 2.5 or 3” dual exhaust.
Now this is a daily driver as in every day use, so I want a lil more power but not a large stall that’s needed.
Has 3.50 gears in the 9” also.

Understand that, but bit broad torque band, tiny bit of better drive ability etc. not completely sound.

1* of lsa wont change that at all either.
Youre splitting hairs for no reason at all. Plus the band may be 50rpm longer but also cost a little avg power both hp and tq.
It going to have 0 effect.

There are quite a few cheap 700r4 converters esp if you want non lockup, but this one will work either way.

We custom ground a 114lsa cam for a customer in Germany only to err on the side of caution for him and their very strict regulations and law enforcement and didnt want to have him have any issue or be let down.

We wont go grinding our High Lift Hot Cam in every lsa though. We keep 5 on the shelf. We cannot keep 5 on the shelf of every lsa.

I understand you have your reasons, but the ideas for them are really unfounded. It has passed emissions in California so that is not a good reason either.

A 113lsa in every cam you would buy would sound very very different due to the other apects of the cam like duration and overlap.

Besides, cuttting it any other way, its not really a "hot cam" anymore, its just a custom cam. I

If you want a custom cam with these lobes we can do that, but its $15 more. Thats what our German customer paid and thats what anyone else would. Still cheaper than some shelf cams out there even at that. I can guarantee you it wont make much difference at all.

lol I agree, if it was more or less saying if it was on a 113 I would jam it in this vette to try it out. My Camaro was and still a camshaft *****. On its 6th cam. All from the original hotcam to some donkey dick shafts.
