Default Overtorqued 6 bolt heads?

Opened up my new to me heads today, and was disappointed to see the intake runner side head bolt holes almost poking thru. Not sure if they were over torqued, or too long of a bolt sent home on them. Currently the bolt holes are filled with rtv.
What potential problems could arise from running these? Repairable? File claim and return? What would you do?

Who made the heads? Over torqueing the correct size bolts would not do that. Too long of a bolt, however sure would.

Are they used? I think someone used too-long intake bolts.

That's what happened with my Stage 2.5 PRC 243's. Butt of the head bolt was popped through each intake port. Seen no loss in power or any issues yet.

They're not intake or valve cover bolts, they're the 5th head bolt hole that are below the floor of the intake ports. Usually its a stud that goes in there as there usually isn't room for a bolt.

My ported Lingenfelter 243s had the rocker bolt come thru, I sealed them with PTFE paste on the rocker bolt and have had zero issues.

My ported 243's have a rocker hole in the port as well. I'd hand clean those up and use teflon past on the rocker bolts

Unless that's the floor of the port then it might be an issue. Probably repairable with epoxy but if you bought them new, just call TSP.

Yep it’s the floor, as mentioned earlier the 6bolt heads have one of the extra 2 bolt holes under the intake port location on the bottom of the runner.

Yes, they were purchased used, but advertised as “excellent and checked out by a machine shop”

There fine, but I would go ahead and run a bolt the rest of the way through to knock out the loose areas and then just seal up the new bolt with paste.
You dont want any pieces of aluminum getting sucked in your engine!
