Nice, good luck!

Might be a stretch. But it should have no problem for 550-570 to the wheels.

Cool thread. Just for future posters: if you could add up all your costs to come up with a final $? I'm not going to sit here with a calc & add up all your costs. Lol.

simple cam swap basically.

Junk yard lq4 $600
862 heads $Free .99
Cam Motion Cam swap kit (cam/lifter/spring/pushrods) $887.54
Maintenance parts "while i'm in there" (oil pump, water pump, idler pulleys etc) $407.11
SS headers $100 from a buddy

Total $1994,65 total invested in my 6.0 for my swap. Just a simple cam swap, done the right way, is not cheap.

I think the almost 1000 between head gaskets and bearings is what stands out the most. Goodness!

Heres the breakdown of my small budget build. I don't have the exact costs, but it should be close:

dissembled lq4 block and internals - $500
machine work, bearings, rings, assembly - $900
TEA heads - $2000ish including buying cores
lifters and trays - $250
straub bushing kit - $180
Pushrods - $100
Cam motion cam - $400
Oil pump - $100
Misc. gaskets and bolts - $400
headers and y pipe $400 - got the headers used
TSP exhaust $550
Misc fluids - $150

This doesnt include the new trans related stuff like a new PTC converter, SFI flexplate for the long crank lq4, fluids, then a tune.

If this motor needs to get pulled out again, then I'll probably use the block for a more max effort forged 370 ls3 top end build.

Complete gasket kit $330
Cam bearings $25
Billet timing set $89
Oil pump $95
Lifters $99
