Default Ls1 piston replacement?

My 01 z28 motor broke a valve spring. Valve hit the piston. Since I've been getting oil in that cylinder. Valve guide has been replaced as well as the valve. Thinking I need pistons but they run 142 ea at the dealer. Going to a forged piston seems silly for a daily driver and no compression gain. Are any of these cheap aftermarket cast pistons good for daily drivers? And close to the factory pistons weight?

We have the KB/Silvolite cast pistons. You mentioned compression. We build our Pro LS LS1 pistons with a 3cc dome. At 3.903, that would net you 10.75:1 with a .040 piston to head with stock 68cc chambers. Milling the heads 5cc while they're off would bump that to 11.5 and give you room for a big cam later down the line. And more spray. We've got gen. 3 and 4 rod options along with aftermarket. Scat just released their new bushed as-forged I-Beams standard length, but strangely they made them for .945 pins. Our press-fit Gen. 3 pistons with .945 pins actually have a circlip provision for times like these.

How many miles on the engine? Were they the stock springs?

You shouldn't all the sudden have an issue with ring seal after a valve tapped a piston. I assume it was just a light touch. Maybe the valve seal tore? It's not hard to do.

I'd look at that before yanking out the whole engine for a rebuild.

We have complete rebuild kits that will get you everything you need for way less than most other places with better quality parts.
Or we can do a pistons/rings gasket kit combo.
Please let me know if we can help
