Default L33 with BTR stage 3 n/a PTV issues?

Ok guys, I’ve searched and can’t find this exact setup anywhere. Is anyone running an L33 or any 5.3 with flat top pistons and no valve reliefs with a BTR stage 3 LS1/LS2 N/A cam? My heads have been milled .020 as well. I’m worried about piston to valve clearance, I got all the parts for next to nothing but don’t want to just destroy them. Should I be ok or no go?

That’s what I was thinking, I don’t have any solid lifters or anything like that to check with. Will the hydraulics collapse and give me a false reading? Also any idea what kind of clearance I need?

Give this thread a quick read.https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ve-method.html Much better way of checking PtV compared to dealing with clay on the piston tops.

I had .040" intake and .060" exhaust and ended up cutting .030" valve reliefs with the setup in my sig.

just need a really light spring to have just enough pressure to hold the valve open. I’ve even used no spring before when I couldn’t find anything light enough.
That will keep the lifter from bleeding down any
EDit: just check the link above and that seems like a pretty good way to check!

Thanks guys. I’ll check measure it Monday before bolting the heads on. Hopefully I have enough clearance. Not wanting to machine more parts. Fingers crossed
