Lq9 Rebuild Or Stroker?

My local guy gets about 1800 to assemble a long block,
(Doing the machine work needed / B&B / Good valve job=5 cut with the guides trimmed and flushed )
If you want some porting etc you'll be about 2300.
Thats assuming your providing a reasonably clean block, usable heads and a rotating assembly..
He says about 20 hours average for him to do a high performance assembly.
He cut me a deal one time because the crank I ordered happened to be a sweetheart,
he put it in the machine and it was dead on.. So close he didn't want to touch it.. Saved me about a hundred..

408 stroker 500-550rwhp Thanks for all the replies guys hadn’t been able to get back in because I needed to reactive my account. So I got a ls3 top end but thinking of just stroking the motor out. You think I can get to 500whp with the l92 top end? If not then around where will I be. Definitely looking into changing back into a cathedral set up looking at TFS 245cc heads with a 50 degree nitrous port and a Holley efi hi rise intake. I have got 90lbs injectors and 4.56 gears so install later

With a 408, you could get there with the Pro LS Stage 4 LS3 specific cam. SUM-8711...maybe even the Stage 3. We're getting some really good feedback on it

Tried to start new post but couldn’t. And hopefully I’ll sell ls3 top end to invest in the new top end I’m looking at. Currently I have the F-35 cam from TSP 235/248 649 lift I believe. Any good 408 rotating assemblies you guys recommend? Appreciate the feed back thanks again
