Intermittent P0336/ constant P0300

I would remove the shim. It's very likely the issue was the connection at the PCM, far more likely that helped than moving the crank sensor away from the reluctor. Would be interesting to see if the crank sensor shimming is what helped, but I can't see how it would. You would be surprised how many cars I've fixed by unplugging and replugging a connector. Bad connections aren't all that uncommon. Especially on a near 20 year old vehicle.
But I am glad to hear it's doing good.

I just put the pcm back in its holder and will take it out for a longer ride tomorrow and see how it does. Ill try it without the shim if it starts acting up again.

Drove it again today for a while..... no crank sensor code nor did the tach act up but it did throw the P0300 flashing light a couple of times.... i think that is in the tune. Im gonna swap out the fuel pump sometime this month and go retune.
