PRC 225s cam selection
If you think too much about it you will go crazy. If you want to learn about cam tech and about lobes, lift, intensity, acceleration and jerk there is plenty of info online as well as a great podcast with Billy godbold on The power and speed podcast. But when it comes down to it, just be honest to the tech on the phone with your goals, get the cam they say works for you and move on. Just my opinion.

Dont let this fool fool you. First off there is no sense in a big cam unless you are going to turn the rpm the big cam wants to turn and you need a valvetrain to handle it. If the heads, gears, valvetrain. Stall/clutch etc dont match then you have a car that drives poorly, sounds mean and is a dog at the strip. Build smart. Dont build for bench racing/peak power. And no, you cant tune out valve overlap, a mechanical function of the cam lobes.
Regarding "drivability" - it depends on your tolerance and driving technique as well. A cam with 13 deg. of overlap is not going to drive like stock in a 346. One guy might say "it drives great" but he never cruises below 2500.

Just curious what cam specs you all would go with on a typical hci ls1 6 spd with PRC 225s 62cc, ported FAST 92/92 and full exhaust. Car is basically just a weekend warrior with track time once or twice a year. I sent out a custom cam sheet to BTR and still waiting to hear back. Want something that will work well with the PRC 225s. Curious on your alls thoughts and how they will compare to BTRs recommendation.
I'd go tad smaller like the sns stage 3 torquemax from tick Jr somthing along those lines with the prc 225s and a 346ci
The 62cc heads and ls1 should be like 10.8 comp I could be wrong. Use a thinner gasket to get to 11.1 and have pat g or ed curtis spec you a cam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just build a iron 6.0 .030" over with same heads and vengeance ported fast 92 and tick polluter v3 cam.
In a c5z with 342s drives great 18* of overlap I think.
BUCKING IS ALL IN THE TUNE!!!!!
it put down 494 thru stock maf.
I bet a ls1 could make 460-70 with these heads and good combo

Well I guess I'm going to reconsider a smaller overlap cam then since a lot of people are recommending bigger. I have a good tuner so the car should drive good and make more power this way. I wouldn't mind 470+ to the wheels.
The tick cam will make more mid range and low end torque and won't carry power as far as the BTR cam. Btr cam will make more on the top end and result it bigger dyno numbers. Both will drive and sound about the same.
