This was one of the LQ4 blocks laying around that became a stroker after it was discovered that the LS3 block that was going to be used wouldn’t work with stock bore pistons, it needed to go .005” over to clean up. So, we bored this block .065” over. Manley 4.100 stroke crank, Manley 10cc pistons with 1.065 CD, 6.125 H beam rods with ARP 2000 bolt upgrade.
. Surprisingly it didn’t need a bit of clearance grinding I at the base of the cylinders for rotating assembly. Maybe I’ll slap a set of unsellable LS7 heads modified for smaller bore on this in the future, not sure yet. The cam pictured in the block was set in just to be sure it turns free without binding issues. If it does get the LS7 heads then it’ll get a specced camshaft.
Built for NA but a 150 shot could be applied, ring end gaps are set to .024 and .025” Wasn’t going to do anything with it really but sell it. Not into iron block builds for my own cars and not into anything longer than 4.00 “ stroke for standard deck height blocks but I had these pieces so it had to be built. If it doesn’t sell I might go with GM LS7 heads(modified) and throw into my Foxbody Mustang.
