Wrist Pin part number and availiblity
Hey all,
I'm building an LQ4, with the factory rods, and LS2 pistons. I believe these would be the full floating type of piston/rod if I am correct. Does anyone know the part numbers for the wrist pins/retainers I'm supposed to use or where to get them? The new pistons I have didn't come with pins and I don't want to reuse the old ones.
Thanks in Advance.

Floating/pressed depends on the year.

Just look for the dimple (Actually impression) on the Rod to be sure. It will be on the side of each rod and will confirm it's a Gen 4 or not and compatible with those LS2 pistons.
I believe any Floating rod pin will work, give WS6Store a call and he'll sort you out. Good Luck!

ok, just to put this to bed. 100% floating pin with clips. Machinist confirmed.
Now, any ideas on the pins? I think i found some online but it wants a length as well as diameter.

Unless the engine saw a lot of boost and the pins were bent, I’d polish them up and roll with them. Any reason why you don’t want to use them?

Then I would ask the builder why not. If the pin is dimensionally correct it IS reusable. They are stronger than any piston they are in.
