Default LM7 Bolts

Hi Everybody.

I got my block back from the machine shop and I am almost ready to re-assemble. I believe I have to replace the bolts on the connecting rods as well as the side bolts on the main caps. does this mean I can re-use the vertical bolts on the main caps? Can someone please help with a part number and vendor I can get the side bolts from? I found the rod bolts but cannot seem to find the side bolts for the main caps. I know the general consensus is to re-use the main bolts and to replace the side bolts but on Summit's site it says it is TTY bolts. Do they have it wrong??

You can re use the main bolts and the side bolts or get them from ARP or Dorman. I prefer ARP because the TTY bolts are something I had rather not depend on. That is just me... Which ever you use be sure and put sealer on the threads on the side bolts to stop oil seepage. Good luck

Thank you so much for the reply. I'm not a big fan of the TTY bolts either. I will be using the ARP rod bolts. Where can I get the ARP (or Dorman) main bolts from? do you have a contact and/or part number?

Summit or WS6store can get you what you need. Dorman bolts might be TTY. Go ARP on whatever you can. Your rod bolts should be able to be used again.

thank you so much guys, the help is much appreciated. I think I will go with ARP where I need to replace bolts. it just seems easier. are these ARP bolts one time use only as well? I'm asking cause I'd like to torque down with plastigauge, vlean up and then do final assembly. will this be ok?

ALL ARP are multi use. NO TTY. That's the beauty of them!

I reuse the main and rod bolts all the time. The head bolts are the only ones i wouldn't reuse, but people do that too...

Same here. I reuse pretty much all of them except the head bolts and sometimes the countersunk cam retainer plate bolts.
