I would rather have cable throttle, is it worth the hassle and cost buying a bigger TB and porting the intake? I have a ls6 intake.

For the price vs return of a large throttle body on a 4.8, id say its not worth it.
Porting is free. If you feel like putting in the time and know how to do it, I don't see any reason not to.
