Default Summit Racing new Pro LS 4340 Forged Steel Cranks, H-Beams, and Rotating Assemblies

Hello folks, we've been busy adding to Summit Racing’s Pro LS lineup. We're proud to announce our new Pro LS 4340 Forged Steel Cranks and H-Beam rods. The quality is excellent! At $499 for rods and $699 for cranks, they are the best value on the market.

Adding them and the Pro LS pistons together results in 227 unique combinations- the largest in the world. Rotating Assemblies (including Clevite H-bearings) come in at $1999 no matter which combination.

They are divided by the 5 common displacements (5.3, 5.7, 6.0, 6.2, and 7.0L), which makes it easy to drill down to the correct bore, stroke, and compression ratio.

Here's the basics:

Currently sold non-balanced

Pro LS 2618-Alloy Forged pistons

o Mid-compression pistons for Nitrous or Naturally-Aspirated.

o Slightly reduced compression pistons for Boost

o Standard bore and multiple over-sizes

Premium 1.2 and 1.5mm Steel top and Napier Martensitic second Piston Rings

Pro LS 4340 Forged Steel Cranks

o Standard stroke or 4 in. stroker.

o 24X or 58X Reluctor rings

Pro LS 4340 Forged Steel H-Beam connecting rods with 7/16 ARP 2000 Rod Bolts

o 6.098 length with a .945 pin

o 6.125 length with a .927 pin

Clevite 77 Tri-metal H bearings included in the rotating assemblies, (but not in the Crank/Rod or Piston/Rod combinations).

Articles: OnAllCylinders wrote an articleexplaining how everything is designed to work together. Please take a moment to read it and let us know any questions you may have.

There are .927 x 2.250 .200 wall 9310 toolsteels on the market that interchange with our standard pistons such as the WIS-S718. These are very good and are looking at our own right now. The pins we have in them now have been well over 1000, but it's a good idea to start thinking about tool-steels around 1000. We also like them used with a 300 hit of nitrous or more due to the torque spike.

Note we have .9433 pin (full floating 2005+ rods) and .945 pin versions of our Pro LS pistons that are identical otherwise. We actually added Spiralock grooves and included clips on both even though Gen. 3's were not so equipped. This allows a Gen. 4 rod guy to hone the small end of the rod .0016 in. and have a perfect fit. It also means our 6.098 x .945 pin SUM-LS6098945 connecting rods have the perfect clearance and not too sloppy like some other rods on the market. A side benefit is the same wall thickness .945 pin is about 5% stronger than a .927 pin. So "for free", you're gaining a bit of horsepower latitude before spending coin on more expensive and heavier tool steel pins.

It would be great if these were the prices for balanced assemblies. I'm considering doing the assembly myself so that would make the differance

Yes, the rods, cranks, pistons, rings, and bearings being priced the same no matter the configuration made it all simple. $1999.99. That includes Clevite H-Bearings and the Steel top, Martensitic second ring packs. Note, although the rods and pistons are balanced to themselves, the crank will need to be spun by your local shop. That will be a drill job without heavy metal, so expense will be low.

We also have Crank/Rod assemblies ($1199.98) for those that need a different piston to hit their target. (We didn't include bearings in these.)

Finally we have Piston/Rod/Ring assemblies ($1099.99) for folks that don't need a forged crank. (We didn't include bearings in these.)

We'll create a training video on this, but one of our goals was to make it EASY to drill down into exactly what you need. In the search bar enter "Engine Rotating Kits" then click brand "Summit Racing" then under Make/Engine click "Gen.3/4 LS based engines". From there select your blocks original Liter displacement like "5.3l". Then your oversize (if you're not just looking for a crank/rod kit). You'll be asked whether you want a 3.622 stroke or 4.000 stroke and a choice of a couple rod lengths. Near the end, you get your piston volume (compression ratio) options. Clicking on one of those allows you to choose the 24X or 58X reluctor and boom you're done! We've written compression ratio's with the two common chamber sizes for each displacement into the description.

Just in time for my 5.3 build. Are these kept in stock for pick up in Arlington by chance?

Everything is pretty new, so it will be a while before we have the individual parts all stocked at all four warehouses. Some of the individual components are there now, but not enough to make the entire kits in one shot. If you place an order through, we have free freight to get you parts from Ohio or you can arrange to pick up in Arlington.

I love it!
Thanks for continuing to bring new and quality products to us.

Any chance for a 3.75" stroke? Just saying!!!

I'm getting ready to put my L33 on the stand and start ordering parts. Looking to boost the Sh*t out of it with some forged slugs. Stock everything else.

Probably not, but we appreciate your input. We looked at sales of 3.900 and it was well down the pecking order with 3.75 not really being in the hunt at all. We've got to do big runs of these things to keep the price reasonable.

I'm sure a 3.750 crank could be done for about 5k. Since only one person will want 1, it would have to be a 1 off custom piece. We already know who the just 1 person is

Default How much power can this line of part handle?

How much power are these parts designed to handle? I have a LS2 408 Stroker Nitrous Motor that makes 950 HP with no issues. I am using 4340 Lunati and Callies Fored Parts now. I use ARP Bolts and Studs from top to bottom, is the LS Pro Line comparable to what I'm currently running. I am not using the top of the line parts but I'm not using the cheapest either.
