Well was a bit of a bear but got things cleaned up. Shaved a couple lbs and cleaned things up, pretty happy with how it turned out. Probably could have went further with it but it'll do for now.

FINALLY! got to the track after a long "off season" Car worked pretty well, got a new best 60 et and mph. This was at the slightly slower of the 2 tracks in my area. I believe my best pass here was a 7.11@95 previously. Was pretty hot during the day and then once the air cooled off the track went away, of course.

Thanks! I think a proper sway bar will be next for the car still yanking the LF more than I'd like.

Nice job on the original times and good to see the new round of mods worked out as well, impressive combo you have there.

Good job!!

You can always make your own links and preload that swaybar on the cheap too.

I hadn't thought about that, is the stock bar strong enough to not just flex?

The stock bar isn't super stiff. But a little preload on it could get you where you want to be.

I have seen guys make a rear anti roll bar out of the front sway bar with some modification.

Sooo Saturday I went to move the Camaro so I could get the circle track car in the trailer and this happened...

Crank crank bang... Fuuuuuu. Dragged the car out of the driveway with the tractor, about ready to scrap it.

I just got done putting the cage in and this happens.

No turns out this is somewhat common.

Bring a trailer... Looks like some guys make a bracket off the trans to repair this, when I get some time I'll mess with it. Just finally got the thing running about right and cage so I can hit the track then this comes up.. sniffle... LOL

I hear ya, always something.

If you know someone thats good at welding aluminum they may be able to weld that ear back on with the motor in the car, then you could helicoil or just clean the threads with a chaser and bolt the starter back on.

I've only seen that ear break off a few times over the last 20 years and I suspect it's from the starter bolts not being quite tight enough and the starter putting extra/uneven pressure on that ear, or maybe the inner bolt coming out or breaking and putting full pressure on that outer ear. Don't know if that helps any, just thinking out loud over here.

Cage looks good btw

would the starter stuck in engaged mode after the motor starts cause it?

Should be a one way clutch on the starter pinion gear so it should free wheel if it got stuck. If it didn't free wheel the engine would just spin the starter armature. If the starter armature and one way clutch somehow all locked up and seized, then maybe it could do that

Either hydro locked from water/fuel or way, way too much timing.
