So I purchased some lunati double valve springs as a kit with the seals and retainers and everything part number 73925k2 from Amazon not knowing they wouldn't fit my 243 LS heads or should I say the valve stem seal did not fit turns out the kit was for older model small block Chevy motors the outside diameter of the valve seat is 1.306 and they barely fit down in the pocket of the valve stem it's a really tight fit but they do fit for the most part i know I'm going to have to put shims under the seat to get my correct install height so I guess one of my questions would be what diameter shim could I get away with using because I cant go any bigger than 1.306 as they wouldn't fit and I don't want to go to small and cause damage to anything my second question would be if I got the correct vlavle stem seals would that be okay to use being that the kit was made for older models and not the gen 3 LS heads the springs themselves are almost just as wide if not exactly the same OD 1.306 are these size springs okay to use on LS 243 heads?

send them back and get the correct ones, its amazon VERY simple

While it may be very simple some of the time , it has not been for me in my experience with Amazon .

Cut your losses then and call BTR or TSP and purchase one of their dual spring kits.
