Default 427 ls next truck build

I have an 02 gmc 1500hd I decided I want to hop up quite a bit since the engine is seized im going to use a ls next shp block stock ls3 heads and a 427 rotating assembly with a 217/228 cam on a 116 lsa and 10:5:1 compression what kind of power would that most likely put out?

Seems like a lousy cam choice for that size engine and those heads.

"hopping it up" is pretty weak. Those cubes will soak up the cam quite a bit and that cylinder head will want to rev. You stand to gain a ton more power with a better sized cam.

Call cam motion. I'm guessing something in the high 22x/low 24x on a 115ish cam would be a good mix of power and driveability.

Since it is going into a truck, are you using it for hauling or as a street machine? intended RPM range would be helpful as well.

I imagine I'll haul in it or tow something heavy eventually it's a 4x4 so it's mostly a daily

Why the shp block for this? For what you are doing, you can do a nice ls3 block or a iron 6.0 block

not as common means more $$$ thats it....

Our newer work truck witch has the 6.0 with 823 heads is a complete DOG under normal cruising conditions compared to the older 6.0 with 317 heads. The slightest hill requires a downshift to maintain speed, from around 3500rpm up id give it to the newer engine though.
Maybe the 427 would make up for the cruising speed torque with rectangle port heads???

have you thought about just doing a forged piston/rod 6.0 and a turbo?
