Default Safe LS1 bore for 650RWHP

I am thinking that I should do piston and rods while the motor is out for HCI. I intend to put a Magnuson 2300 on it one day. So.. What is a safe. Bore for 8-10 PSI and 650RWHP? 3.903, 3.905, leave it 3.898?

If you are pulling the engine, I'd just replace the block with a LS2 or LS3. Better rods and floating wrist pins.

If you can leave it alone without honing it, your better off, especially with boost. Those blocks have crazy thin cylinder walls. The more meat you can leave, the better off your are.

Most forged pistons are going to require a 3.903 bore which should be fine. You do have an older block so it may have thinner sleeves than the later ls1 blocks. Eight to 10 psi is not a problem at all though not even on a stock short block. The issue I have with your setup is a 2300 blower is going to be capable of a lot more so can you really limit yourself to 10 psi? Also 650 rwhp on 10 psi will take an efficient setup, but it sounds like you're using good heads and cam for this so it can be done especially with meth or ethanol.

650 is what the trans is rated at, so I will not be going over 10.

Hopefully knowing that the trans is rated at 650 will keep me in check. Plus it is a daily driver..

Trans ratings are funny. I hope you don't honestly believe that going over 650 is causing to cause instant failure.

Is said trans a T56? Stock theyre rated to what 350-400? People put down double that without a failure unless they're launching on a tire. If its rated to 650 I would hesitate to put 800 through it.

I know, but I'd rather not break my trans and 650RWHP is a **** ton of power for a real daily driver. Plus, that would be a power:weight in Dodge Demon range.
