4.1" crank here no issues. I feel that crank case pressure control becomes significant when it comes to strokers.

402 ls2 stroker here. Wiseco shelf parts and lunati bottom end. Kings coated bearings. Had kelly bluebaugh at wfo put the shortblock together. Runs perfectly fine and doesn't burn any oil.

It’s at 4.060” bore, which makes it 440ci with the 4.250” stroke crank. I machined and assembled it myself with Wiseco pistons that I had custom made with thin rings and a short compression height to keep the pistons stable in the bore at BDC. The crank and rods are from K1 Technologies.

I have a build thread posted in this section with a good bit of detail of what it took to build it. I’m finally getting around to putting on a decent top end and scheduling a dyno tune sometime later this month or next, so I’ll be posting some updates over the next couple of weeks.

Update, 2 more years, zero oil burn issues with either 383 or 416, 4 inch strokers.

I probably have 2,000 miles on it. I've changed the oil 3 times and the oil gets dark pretty quick, from carbon - I guess.

What do the spark plugs look like and have you opened the throttle blade to look into the intake manifold? Was the engine built for NA or power adders and do you know the ring gaps?

I'm going to check all that out this weekend. It was built for NA. I don't know the ring gaps.

What's Spartan have to say about this? Are they willing to check out the engine?

Would'nt hurt to perfom a compression test while your at it.

Josh said that he's going to get the car towards the end of the month.
I thought I'd also add that there's no PCV. There is an Elite catch can. He mentioned that it would be good to have a vented oil cap. I'd have to remove my sway bar to do that.

The Elite catch can was backwards in that the inlet should be from the crankcase and the outlet to the manifold vacuum.
I straightened that out. I am also going to get a fixed orifice PCV valve. What's that going to do to my idle and fuel mixture? Someone yesterday, at a red light said the TA sounded great but ..... running way to rich!!

I also installed a vented filter that screws into the oil cap location.

I thought that I'd update this ticket in hopes that my problem is resolved. I installed a one way check valve on the clean side at the throttle body, It will not allow air to input it from the valve cover. With that, I also installed a breather cap/filter that also has a check valve and will only allow crankcase pressure to output it there.

we're you using the ls2 valley cover or the ls1 style with the pcv routed through both valve covers?

I'm using the stock LS1 valley pan. Each valve cover rear port connects to a T which then inputs the catch can. The catch can output goes to the manifold through a fixed orifice PCV.

10AN lines off each valve cover to either a single or dual breather cans. Two 1/2"NPT to 10AN male fittings and just remove the factory stems and drill and tap for the fittimgs.
