Callies Contacted me and asked If Id be interested in testing all 4 of their camshafts in my newly acquired 03 rcsb. I picked this up with 25k miles untouched.

engine is bone stock internally. 706 heads. stock air intake. Stock intake manifold etc. I added ls3 blue springs. Stock pushrods.

Only mods in this test other than camshaft is speed engineering 1 7/8" longtubes with custom built dual 2.5" stainless exhaust with X pipe.

First camshaft was their part number (180-009)
It is a 210/218 on a 108 lsa

That dyno displays the tq at that given rpm. So at 6,2-6,600 or wherever the run ended.. they all made from 300-320 in and around 3,800-4,500 Just have to look at the graph a little closer.
It is just how Dim Sport Dyno is setup.

This was with the same exhaust as in the test. Stock cam and springs. all factory fueling and timing. The only thing done in the tune was the rear o2's were deleted. tq management and all that was still at oem settings.

Thanks man! Its really a long but awesome story. I helped my dad out with a similar and higher mileage truck back in 2007 after he struggled with a nasty divorce. Well he sold it off and upgraded over the years. blah blah.

Anyways. As a token of his appreciation he found this and bought it for me. Surprised me with it a few weeks back and I went to work on it since!

He found this with 25k miles on it! Best gift ever.

I don't know a lot about how much power those normally put down since there aren't a lot of dynos of them out there but I've seen a few guys post up that with small cams in the 99-07 5.3 4l60 trucks they are dynoing 230-240 hp or so. Yours seems unusually high in power. Is it due to dyno ing it in a lower gear?

Thanks for doing all this testing, those are some great cams and I really loved seeing the 108 in there, I've been wondering how a less than 110 on a mild duration cam would do on a 5.3

Really sweet truck btw, looks great lowered on those wheels.

Would love to see the full tq curve of all those cams if you have it, it's cut off in almost every pic.

Last and sorry for all the questions, but what lifts were those cams?

Very interesting, all the cams have -2 overlap @ 0.050 so it is just the duration in regards to the intake closing and exhaust opening that's changed between them and the overlap would be centered the same if all the cams were installed straight up

I tune quite a bit of these and they will put down 210-220 completely stock and on a couple different dynos depending on what area I go to. They are 285 flywheel horsepower. So even with a 25% drivetrain loss they are 215

I started the runs at 2,500 with the smaller 2 and 3,000 on the larger since they shifter tq higher in the band with the stock converter. so its pretty much showing right where it comes in on each of them. Ill have to check if I have any other pictures. I dont think I do. I figured that would suffice since we had a baseline and so on.

These cams are all .550-.552 lift I believe. They are show by valve lift on their cam card. not gross lift.

Richard holdner did the btr cam tests and made 480 flywheel horsepower out of the 5.3 with stage 3 btr cam. factor that same 25% drivetrain loss. Thats 360 rwhp. These are a very comparable camshaft.

Ive had comp xer stuff on my old dynocom 10 years ago and they made 325-330's with 212/218 stuff.

they had some interesting IVO/IVC and EVO/EVC as well. They asked me not to disclose all of that until they put them out for production. Interesting lineup though. The two small cams were great for stock converter stuff. Im excited to use them in the future for my dod delete customers.
