Default Thoughts on repairing/using this cylinder head

Have a set of heads that a guy broke a timing chain on and bent a bunch of valves. They are ported and are real thing around the valve guides and when they put in a new guide a chunk of aluminum broke off in the port around the guide. Anyone ever attempt to have this repaired/welded? Or could a guy just clean up the port with a grinder and run them with more guide exposed? The price is right so putting some money in them at the machine shop would still keep the price right but figured I'd see if anyone has dealt with this before or if some people port so aggressively to show alot of guide to begin with which would basically be the same as this. Thanks in advance!

The broken damaged port with a new guide

Another port to compare

Mine are ported down to the guide in that area. I would be more worried about the work done to the valve stem and if the seats are ok from the bent valves.

Yes it will need new valves and a valve job. But the main thing I wanted to see is if it's ruined due to the piece of aluminum breaking off, I imagine it broke when then put the new guide in.

The guide being exposed isn't a problem. I'd run that.

I'd be more concerned about whether the guide itself is damaged. Have them checked very carefully to make sure they're not ovalled out or something from the valves side-loading them.

And don't forget to use thread sealer on the rocker bolts.

For sure on the sealant! Might be hard to see in the pic, but that guide is bronze, aka replacement. But all the guides would be replaced with the valves just to be sure they are all straight and have the right clearance.

Being I picked these up in a trade deal the only money invested in them would be the machine work. Currently looking for a good shop to check them out and quote me. That will be the deciding factor I'm sure.
