You guys are looking at some super old cam lobes. Talk to Cammotion or Comp - both have much newer technology.

Spring tech has advanced tremendously, and along with it spring life. Comp just came out with their new LST - low shock technology - lobes. Great stories to read here.

Very good reply on the difference would be similar from going from a 1.7 to a 1.8 rocker! At the valve that's exactly what's going on in the "low lift" versus "high lift" version of the cam.

My question is say a head flows 260CFM@.400" and 310CFM@.500". In a fast intake situation, how would the power difference be with a camshaft with the same lsa, same duration but .425" lift versus the same specs on a cam with .610" lift. IE the first cam lifts to where the head makes around 260cfm, and the second cam lifts to where it makes over 300cfm and stays there for a while.

I'm pretty confident that it will gain as if you put a head with 40-50 more cfm on it at the lift ranges you use or something worth 35-50HP on a v8 with a suitable induction. I haven't gotten a clear response as of yet.
