Default Was running and idling, swapped pan, now it will not start.

Hi all, first time poster here.
Engine:
5.3 out of an 04 avalanche, harness from Lsx Harness, flashed pcm by LT1 swap, TBSS intake, 54-454-11 cam, new rods and springs, in 1965 C10.

I have the following issue, it was running and idling, I was planning to mess with my tune. I had truck oil pan so I lifted the engine and swapped for the smaller camaro style pan. Buttoned it up set it back on mounts and bolted it up. Now the engine will crank and crank but I am having occasional fire attempts but it will not start and idle. I smell gas after a bit so it is getting fuel.

please give me some tips! Everything was fine before the lift and swap of the oil pan.

Might you have hit the crank sensor and maybe damaged it?

Am not sure, I will check that. I am not ruling it out but I am not getting a code for it.

You had a ground pull lose or some other type of electrical wire/connector damage happen during the process. Make sure all your connectors are plugged in tight. It’s going to be something simple, yet likely hard to find.

Would it start if the pan sensor indicated no oil?

I will comb over everything… I checked the crank sensor, it is protected by headers and the starter and there is slack there. I am leaving town. Will update next weekend.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I pulled all the plugs cleaned and checked for spark, checked injectors, checked grounds, checked crank sensor, checked cam sensor. Truck will turn over but sounds like it is firing only on a few cylinders.

what could it be? Fuel injectors all are injecting, every plug has spark… it is driving me insane. It even tries to run.

Check the cam position sensor wiring. I once had 1 wire on my cam sensor wiring wear thru the insulation, and it makes the car much harder to start. I'm talking cranking for 10-15 seconds, which does the starter and battery no good at all. The car did eventually start, but eventually, I also got a code......

Just going to replace both sensors… hopefully that works. There are no codes.
