Default Engine noise - anyone know what this could be? Video

Makes a weird chirping/ball bearing/referee whistle noise. Soft driving it doesn’t do it, only does it when I go over 1/3 throttle and starts at around 1,500RPM

its definitely not the belt, as I removed it and the noise is still there

Sounds like ignition knocking. Cheap gas? Knock sensor(s) gone bad?

I use 93 octane from Sunoco - logging w/ HPTuners, it shows no knock. Been doing it for a while, multiple gas tanks. I just always thought it was the belt, since it sounds exactly like an annoying belt/pulley noise.

I'll hook up the scanner back up to it and really pay attention to the timing.

Yeah, like that type of whistle with the ball in it that refs use, right before you hear the turbo spool up

seems like it gets louder as the engine load increases? does it do it in neutral or just under load?

I had an exhaust leak that sounded like that one time, would only make the sound under load, sounded like a little turbo because it would get louder with more back pressure lol...

It will do it in neutral, but I really have to rev it high, like 4k and it just barely makes the noise. That's a good point, I'll check all the connections!
