I don't disagree at all. I can however tell you that on a different platform the difference between turning the power steering pump and bypassing it with a shorter belt was exactly 0 hp through the entire pull. Granted with the wheels straight on the dyno that isn't shocking but its not exactly like you are turning the steering wheel that much going down track - at least you shouldn't be I figured it would see at least a little gain - at least at high rpm but literally none. Can't see how a tensioner takes more power to spin than a power steering pump.

My bolt on ls1 car is very consistent. Best et was 11.60@116.4 with my version of a short belt(crank, alt, power steering, tensioner, back to crank). I ran that at +400da. I also went 11.62@116.7 a different day with only change being a 4 rib belt going crank to alt. Identical 60’ but +1500da. That’s the data I have to go off of.

I would look at the aero of that brick nova too.

And weight weight weight.

The 8.5 ten bolts are actually pretty robust. But it’s got a 8.8/9” hybrid
