Default rockers on tfs 225

I know this question is beat to death. I'm just on the fence on what I want to do. Either spend the money and get roller rockers and which ones, or get the powdered metal guide done and use my stock rockers with a trunion upgrade. I will have the same amount wrapped in both by the time it is all done. Just looking to see any ideas or benefits. Thank you

Cam Lift and RPM Range/Shift Points, and even if Daily or Dragstrip Use Info would help for recommendation from most...

Some will say 620-630 max lift while on trunion upgraded rockers for a Daily, while some will run higher lift and high rpm on a Dragstrip Only due to rocker arm weight factor.

I'm sure others will present other variables as well...

I think he is referring to the fact that his heads have bronze guides

It you change the guide, you have to touch up the valvejob as well. The VJ is centered off the guide, not the other way around, so if the guide is changed out and honed for the valve dia., the VJ must be looked at again. Personally I’d change to a roller rocker setup if your running bronze guides and the VJ is in relatively good shape (new). You’ll need a tad more valve spring for the extra nose weight of the rocker as well, but your likely going to buy new springs while having the heads rebuilt with guides/seats if you go the other direction anyway.

I just had the exh seats touched up in my AFR 205’s. I’ve been running the latest YT rockers. Head guy said the guides are still in excellent shape. Heads have about 30k miles.

So I asked him about the guide material. He said the guides are made by CHE and are very hard. He didn’t see an issue with using stock rockers.

AFR actually suggests a trunion kit if using stock rockers. Interesting. Or of course rollers.

I’m using different lifters on this 6.2 so I did the PR length check with both the rollers as well as stock rockers.

Also having a hard time deciding what I want to do. I sure like the simplicity and lower noise of the stock setup.

I appreciate the input. Yeah I know I would need a valve job with getting the guides done. I talked to two machine shops said 600-800 to have the guide and valves done. the person I had bought the heads from had them gone over and cleaned up.
