2001 TA
Plans for the car. (Weekend warrior)
Full weight and AC
Rear will be a quick performance 9" 390s
Transmission will be performabuilt lvl 2 with a PT4000 Yank converter.
Fast 92 Intake
Stock bottom end 68k Got a deal in some Advanced induction 241s non high compression, so I will be using those. Manley stock valves and 660 lift springs.
I am wondering what cam will work best with those heads ?
I have been looking heavily at the btr stg 4 na cam.
I do not want to fly cut the pistons.
just trying to see what options are out there and if I'm over looking a better cam choice.

My .02 Cam Motion LS1 Titan 4 227/232 113+3 or Titan 5 232/238 113+3, The BTR Stage 4 233/247 needs more
Compression Ideally 11.3:1+ and 7000+ RPM & FAST 102/102 to maximize.
I would choose the Titan 4 first then Titan 5 before the BTR 4 with your combo and goals.

BTR cam has been 10s in the quarter mile numerous times over and over with several heads that's on the market. If you was building a daily driver I would go with a smaller cam but weekend warrior you looking to cut some throats at the track

Said he does not want to fly cut. That kinda limits the radicalizing of the cam

Sometimes the best cam isn’t always the biggest cam you can stuff in there, especially in a sbe.

I tried to contact AI to see what cam would work best with these heads but they only do email and I haven't heard anything.
I might run a Fast 102 just depends on which ever I catch a deal on. Will end up running the Speed engineering 1 7/8 long tubes and TD exhaust. Has 1 3/4 LT headers currently.

far as driveability that 4k stall should soak up any bucking or surge. But isnt that mostly in the tune ?
we have a good local tuner so tune is no issue.

If I had to say max effort was 10 and driveability was 1 I'd be shooting for a 7

my last car had a F14 standard version which I think was 232/234 598.598. 112. And that drove fine with the FTI 4k stall I had.

Thank you guys for throwing out advice and options. I'm looking at that titan 4 but it dont give a rpm window. Does anyone know that rpm range ?

Titan4 will carry to 7000 with your intake setup. I like the Titan5 for your setup or something custom between the two. Like others have said with the btr stage 4 you’re going to need more cr, more rpm, and more gear to utilize its 16.5degrees of overlap.

I say sell those heads and pick up a set of TFS 220 as casts from btr with a smaller chamber. The 220s will have way more ptv and compression opening up more options for bigger cams, not to mention they flow better

What would a set of those run ? I dont know but I wouldn't imagine the gains being tremendous over the 241s. If we were talking 50 more hp I'd be interested. If were talking 10 or 15 not really worth it imo
