Question What do you pros think??????

Ok

Heres my Goal 475 hp/ torq? Good solid pull by 3000 rpms or so.

2002 ls1 car, 6 speed 3:42s ratio

Mods
Current:
LS6 intake (came with it)
Slp lid
160 thermo
smooth bellows
SLP loud mouth
Off road y pipe
LS1 edit

Ordering this week
Super Max or FLP packageLong tubes will have y pipe with High flow cats

I think I have narrowed it down to-
Heads: LS6 stage II patriots with 59cc chambers
Cam: 226/226 578/578 112

I thought about a 224/224 114 but all the shops I have talked to say its to much of a baby cam. For what Im trying to accomplish.

What do think?

The Car is a daily driver but not for about another six months, I only drive about 10 miles a day. Mainly city driving.
Thanks for any input.

You'll never make that at the rear wheels with a cam that small. I'm installing the same cam in my car this week and should have dyno numbers soon. I'm thinking that I'll end up around 435rwhp and 400rwtq with that cam and my LS6 style heads... could be slightly more.

Btw.. you need to plan on dumping the high flow cats and adding a ported TB along with an ASP pully if you want to maximize your setup.

Gomer, you switching to a smaller cam. What's the deal? Why you going to a smaller cam?

It will only be in there for a couple of weeks Just doing some testing. I'll have another "big stick" in there by the end of August

Hey gomer is your rear end a 10 bolt? If so how does it hold up to all the power? Does it work fine on the street as long as you don't run slicks? I am thinking about getting gears for my 10 bolt, but I do not want to weaken it any more than it is already. I was going to get 3.73 richmonds or maybe 4.10's but the 3.73 are stronger right.

I've broken 3 stock rears in 24,000 miles and my car has only ever been to the track a couple of times and that was on street tires. I do drive my car very hard on the street with drag radials on it though. I have a 12 bolt with 4.10's on order.. I'll be installing it the first weekend in August. A 10 bolt with 3.73's or 4.10's will live on street tires, but I think good pavement and Nitto's have been what killed my stock rears.

I agree. You need an seriously more agressive cam than that. You may need to get creative to produce that kind of hp in a stock cube motor. It can be done, but it isn't going to be a run of the mill cam that does it either.

U diffenetly need a bigger cam and a better intake like a LSX 90MM with throttle body or a TPIS oval port LS6 intake and a set of big heads. I Believe they LG made those numbers search the posts in the last months in this forum.
