Well crap I’m just getting along with everyone today LOL.
Its a good thing I wasnt posting.......Youd be arguing with me too....LOL
edit...
damnit....late to the party again...
So...Lemme throw this at you. take a 6.0 and a 383, same heads, cam, compression, intake, exhaust......Which one will make more power? Thats the question.
Ive seen a forged 6.0 with a stock stroke crankshaft make 590 plus horse at the crank with out the box/off the shelf parts with a fast 102mm intake. No ported this and ported that specials....
The 383 would make more torque thus accelerate faster.
Yepper...more peak torque and more torque every where. If they had the same cam as well as top end peak horse power should be very similar, but the 383 would also seem more mild at idle and have better drive ability.

So maybe 480 rwhp through a stalled unlocked auto?

Im not sure. I hate to compare rwhp numbers for several different reasons.
Reason one is all dynos are not the same. A dynojet, blue cat, mustang dyno will all read different from one another given the same car go dyno to dyno.
Reason two, all stalls go read different as well. For instance a 4200 stall is going to eat up more rwhp vs a 3000 stall.
Reason three, the rearend choice and transmission not to mention tires can and will make a rear wheel dyno act different.
Backing up my statement... I have a close friend that i talk to on the daily basis that has a full weight auto car with a sbe 6.0 LS2 that runs 6.6s in the 1/8 mile on motor on 17s with factory ported castings. Aww yea... its no trailer queen eithier.

I run untouched 241’s with btr springs, untouched ls6 intake, and stock ls1 throttle body. Based upon trap speed calculations I made 850 rwhp on accident because boost. Everything is a street car now and everything is full weight. Lol
Joking aside here is my 224/224 cammed ls1 and budget 408 dyno from around 05/2006 time frame. If someone could overlay a dyno from an aggressive 346 or 6.0 making around the 478 my 408 made it would be interesting to compare the curves. This was a 3600 stalled converter stock gear.
I think I'm going a completely different route and buying a 6.0 and build a 408 Stroker so if anyone is interested in my 78k miles 2000 Z28 LS1 I'm asking 3k
Literally the worst sound at the drag strip is a built all motor Honda.
lol...the stop sign at the end of the block is a popular place to do burnouts. We sit on the porch and enjoy the show. Had a Honda put it on the two step and I thought we were in for a show, but when he let it rip it barely chirped a tire bogged and almost died lmao.
