Default New alternative to ARP head bolts/studs???

I was perusing a Summit Racing catalog and it looks like Trickflow and Summit both have their own brand of head bolts/studs and claim made in the US. Anyone ever use them? Quite a bit cheaper than ARP, but I would assume they have better quality than the fleabay chinesium?

In for results from whoever.

I wish I would have done studs on my build at this point. I didnt think I was ever gonna get the drivetrain to hold 20 psi for more than a couple rips. I really should stop while I'm ahead....

but I can't.....MOAR BOOST!

I dont see Trickflow studs for LS engines, just speedmaster for same length studs as the Summit ones are only for the early style engines.

I didn't look very hard, but Trickflow definitely had bolts. I think Summit had the studs.

I’d Trick Flow or Summit’s volts/studs are truly US made, I’d try them. Can’t be any worse than eBay/ Alper Motorsports I see FORCED INDUCTION guys use.

The $60 trickflow bolts are a stock style torque to yield bolt.

Yup! They say they're chromoly but they are TTY. The Summits looks like a knock off of ARP though.

instructions say made in usa. for the cost id probably go ARP or speedmaster. im currently in the middle of trying out "reused stock bolts run down with an impact" so i will inevitably be in the market for something better some day. or not?

I have used a lot of summit brand parts over the years. Never disappointed with the quality or function. But the only person to review these head studs was certainly not impressed.

I would never use anything from speedmaster. Cheap off shore copies of real performance parts. http://www.coloradospeed.com/speedmaster79-ezp-88.html

That was the point of making this thread. I was wondering if the Summit stuff is a better quality alternative to ARP since the only other alternative is the Speed Master stuff. I've used the Speed Master studs with no issues but just looking around.

Using Summit brand head studs here. They look and feel just like ARP branded studs

Weve used the summit studs. they work great and you save $100 over ARPs. Studs and ls9 head gaskets for the same price as just ARP Studs . haha

You have a link? Only ones I see are SUM-910256 for 03 and earlier blocks.

$270 is still a lot more then the $90 for the china studs that hold more than stock rods can lol the China studs and the $15 nascar nuts are a winning combo!

That's what I was looking for. Id love to see people move away from ARP for most builds so they get real about their pricing

I linked them in another thread about head studs, they are just beefier than the typical ARP nuts.
