FWIW I run stock stock rockers on .630 lift lol. Don’t see any tip wear from them. but I’d like to throw some rollers on there next time i have them off. The tsp ones are the only ones I’d consider. For sure a good tire makes or breaks the whole setup

I do the same, that's not whynew dont recommend then for him, he had cylinder heads with bronze guides that the manufacturer states should not be paired with stock scrub pad rockers. Although Texas speed for example, claims that with theirs you can run stock rockers.

I wonder why that is? The slightly reduced valve angle maybe induces Less pushing on the valve guides??

Does TSP use bronze guides or iron? That is the difference.

ah you’re right I overlooked that. I think TSP uses PM as standard. stupid me lol. I figured it was something else as I think you have an option between PM and Bronze. Per my head build receipt I got these: 143-30-8674U - Qual Cast Steel Guide for Aftermarket LSx Head Castings: .502 OD..

They use a bronze guide. The guide is manufactured by I believe CHE, dont quote me on that, but they told me it is much more durable compared to the competitors bronze guides and they are comfortable with stock rockers .630 lift.

Correct CHE.

I'm running PRC 225 heads, stock rockers with smith bros bronze trunnions, .629/.615" lift with no issues. I only have a couple thousand miles since the head swap though... more miles will tell how the guides hold up.

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, tin being the harder of the two.
I'm betting CHE's guides use a mix with more tin than that which the other guides use.
