its hard to say man, I would call a shop to find out. Pricing can vary and when you get into this niche stuff it does get pricey and can vary greatly depending on many things including the shop that stamps their name on it. The additional costs will be in whether or not you sleeve the block, what sleeves you use, machine shop labor or cost of the block being used if you have to get a new one. 7500 bucks is a solid budget for a longblock but that isnt enough for a sleeved big CI engine unfortunately. That will get you a nice 408 with some good heads though. It will likely cost you around 10 grand for those big ci sleeved engines.

I talked to a few guys with the 408 and I pricee machining costs my verdict is 454 lsx is what I'm going to go with a lot of 408s aren't very reliable due to sideloading etc in the lq9 blocks and I figure why rebuild it twice 454 lsx is the way to go for me its about a 2k difference

I would build the 408 sense you already have the 6.0 block ready to go but also some thing to think about is if you already have a 6.0 in your truck buy a nice FI setup and im sure you would be more than happy with it gobs of torque and nice HP

maybe but they don't last to long due to piston rock a guy in my group had one go like 40k depending on the block seems like ls3 based ones last longer
