Default 799 port/polish/mill

I have a set of 799 heads i got for $100. My question is, is i want something along the lines of stage 2/2.5 work done on them. I see TEA is highly recommended. I dont want to start a war here, as there are other threads similar.. but I want to know of a place to send them off to, that isn't going to cost me over $2000. I will have the summit ghost cam soon. I already have a 3400-3600 stall and 1 7/8 headers with 3" ORY. I will also be doing a FAST intake or possibly the Ls6 with 90mm snout mod to keep stock appearance. Thanks.

Hard to beat TSP for price. Wilkes performance also looks to be a quality port job.

IMO, get it done by TSP. If you're going to spend any more than what they charge, just get a good as cast aftermarket head like TFS 220s or PRC 225s.

Let's go ahead and dive into this one since I've already gotten good answers...

Oh also, would I expect the same performance results from TEA stage 2 versus the TSP 2.5?

My vote is for TSP 2.5. Good work, quality and quick turn around time.

I'll be going with Texas Speed as long as I'm not leaving anything on the table over TEA.

Hello, full-disclosure for those that don't know already, but TEA is a part of TFS - which is part of Summit Racing, Before I started with Summit, I had them run the 2.0 program through my LS6 heads along with cut-down LS3 valves to save weight. I was very pleased with the attention to detail and they performed very well. They held up under amazing abuse and were only taken out of commission by a chunk of errant piston ring land. The guy that assembles heads is very fastidious and has been with the company for a long time. Their bowl work and competition valve job alone is better than some other folk's (not Texas Speed's) full port job. Throw in the cleanliness, top-quality valvetrain components, and head milling and it's the best deal out there for quality work. T.E.A. remains my go-to with what I know about their operation.

I stand by my initial thought. If you're going to spend the money for TEA ported heads, just get a good as cast aftermarket head like the PRC 225s or TFS 220s. If you sell those 799s you'll probably even save money.
