Default Are there different versions of the 317 head? Re: head bolt lengths

Title kind of states it.

I was wondering if there were different versions of the 317 head used on the LQ4 that would use different style head bolts.

Longer info:
I bought a low mileage 2004 LQ4 for an engine swap many years ago. I visually verified the donor truck and have the vin handy which also matched the claimed 2004. I also have torn into the engine and found the "unequal" head bolt setup and NOT the expected equal head bolt setup. Did I get a rollover LQ4 from 2003?

the head does not dictate the length of the bolt/stud needed. That is determined by the block.

As mentioned above. Its not the head but the block that dictates the bolts.

Also It's not the year of the vehicle but the year the block was cast. Vehicle production always starts the prior year.

Thank you guys for explaining it. What a pain in the butt for buying bolts/studs... ~2x depending
