Default Iron block at machine shop

As the title says the block is at the machine shop getting prepped before the assembly, other than casting flash that needs to be die grinded and smoothed in the valley area, is there anything else that needs attention while at this stage? Final hone still to do. Head area skimmed.

Cam bearing have been removed and will be replaced, he is going to check the mains and if needed hone. I really hoping the mains are within spec as I don't want to alter the timing chain C to C dimensions, thanks 1Fastbrick.

Tell your machinist that "I read this on the internet" and see what happens....

If you have trust in your machinist, take his recommendations.

I really don't think We Todd was being sarcastic. I also think it's a good idea to sit down with your machinist and have a good discussion on your expectations and goals. Then if there's something that your not sure about, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to explain it. If there are things that can have a couple different options, then come here and ask.

If you took your block to a LS experienced machinist/engine builder, I'd discuss goals and ask "what would you do if it was yours?"

Eric, you really should make a signature and tell the world who you are. Pretty sure others would take you a whole lot more serious.

Where's the fun in that?

Good advice, be honest about your goals and budget then ask your machinist.
Bad advice, watch youtube then tell your machinist how to do his job.

Heres a fun fact, I told my last engine builder that I read on the internet RHS blocks have problems and poor customer support. He said "nonsense". I suggested we go with the Dart. He said, " Dont worry bout it, I ve been doing this for 20years! Besides, you re in the friends zone now!"
True story.
