Default pcm for n/a 6.0 with magnum 6 Spd

Looking for pcm for n/a 6.0 ls with92 mm dbc, throttle body, magnum 6 Spd trans , Holley terminator x looks like a nice product but sticking to n/a no n20 seams like I would not use as much of all the features to justify the extra cost . Only engine mods would be cam and move comp to about 10: 5- 10:7

Find a 6.0 2500 that was a 5 speed. I know the early years 1999-2002 had a manual. If you get in touch with tuned by frost he can tell you what to use. If you post this in the tuning section you will get more responses.

You might not use the extra features of the Holley but it has better resolution in the fueling tables to give more accurate and finer control. Plus IMO the software is easier to work with than HP Tuners and a stock ecu. I think the Holley setup is the way to go.

Do you worry when a computer or even calculator can do more than you will use it for?? Me neither....

Does the year engine matter if you are using a cable controlled throttle body?

I use HP Tuners on a daily basis... I would HIGHLY recommend the Holley system... You bring up good points though... Can an automatic trans tune be used with a manual trans after making the necessary changes? Or, must you start with a tune set up for a manual car? Keep in mind that the GTO's came with 6.0L engines, and some had T-56 transmissions! Same with the F-body's... So, yes there are GM PCM's that can be made to work with your set up, however, if you have no experience with HP Tuners, or one of the other software tuning packages, then the Holley IS the way to go. I see that you are wanting to use DBC and I believe all of the later PCM's used DBW... You bring up some great points and questions, with your post. Sub'ed.

I have a 5.3 in my 1992 silverado 5 speed with a 1999 pcm automatic. Runs totally fine. There are a few things you have to tune for auto pcm to work i just don't remember. If you want a cable driven throttle body you need a pcm that is used for throttle cable.
