Cam Motion Titan 4/Yank PT4000 combo
hey guys, got a new setup im putting together, after only having bolt on cars i decided to do a cam/stall car.
its a weekend street/strip toy, 2002 T/A with a SBE LS1 and A4. all the usual bolt ons, lid, long tubes, ORYs, SLP LM1 exhaust, and a tune by Tom Wong at WPE in Vancouver Wa. He will retune it when done.
I decided to do a Cam Motion Titan 4, 227/232, 113+4, .612"/.598" lift, Cam Motion .660 dual springs, Cam Motion pushrods, LS7 lifters/trays, and the WS6Store Max Effort rocker/trunion.
Im also doing a Yank PT4000 stall converter. big trans cooler, transgo shift kit.
I tried to search for a Titan/PT4000 combo to get some insight to how this car will perform, but havent had too much luck. Im interested in hearing some opinions on how shes gonna run, what to expect. This is my first cammed/stalled car.
Thanks in advance!

if it were me I would go for even more exhaust duration on the cam with that big of a stall. Something in the 240's would fit the bill. That's nearly a max effort stall speed so why not use a max effort cam with it because that one's right in the middle of the road, a larger cam would take better advantage of the Hi RPM shift extension provided by that converter

My C5 snuck into the 10’s with less cam and a Yank ss3600. Logs show it actually flashes to 3800.
This was at PIR.
Your combo is solid and will run well.
I have an LS1 ready to go into my kids 2800lb S10. I used the Titan 4. It has a 4000 stall with a TH350. I expect easy mid 10’s. Ported 243, 11:1 CR.
The thought that making the exh 240 is just stupid. You won’t even notice the difference.
Maybe I’ll see you at the track. I’m there and at Woodburn all the time.
I tune a few of the local Turbo guys.

I think it will do very well. This is a combo I have considered for awhile I’m just not done with bolt ons quite yet myself. The converter will drive pretty loose with stock gears but with 3.90s it would be a lot more bearable for even the most picky of us. You are correct we don’t need a big cam to make these cars run well into the 10s. With bolt ons my ls6 intake was at 93-94 kpa on a normal +1500da day all the way down track. That will be more exaggerated with a aftermarket cam requiring more air. My recommendation would be do 3.90s and go ahead with the Fast102 and it’s accessories. Either way I’ll be following so keep us updated.

if your putting a Transgo Shift kit in it, I recommend buying a kit from Dana at Pro Built Automatics...he customizes them to what you want. I bought off him for my occasional track car, street car. Nice firm shifts at the track and shifted like stock on regular driving....it was money well spent!

spring plan is likely some 3.73s, maybe 3.90s and then a FAST, and FTP lid, and FTRA
